BusinessWeek has an article called Troubling Exits at Microsoft that talks about how Microsoft employees are leaving to move to other companies such as Google. There are quotes from employees such as “There’s a distinct lack of passion, we’re missing some spunk”. Quite interesting considering the place Microsoft used to be, where highly qualified people clamoured to work there.

iTunes 5.0 crashes music database?

Adam Curry talked about some problems he had upgrading iTunes on his podcast for September 12. There is also an article on techdirt talking about the same thing. I had absolutely no problem upgrading to iTunes 5.0. This is odd, because 37 years of bad luck experience says that I should have had a problem, even if no one else had.
The disappointing thing about people

eCommerce Patents Out of Control

This article on Techdirt talks about the latest patent suit between EPlus and SAP. Apparently, EPlus holds a patent on searching online catalogs, checking availability, and displaying the results. How rediculous is this to have a patent for and why the hell is this kind of stuff being granted?
