“…the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking.” – Steve Jobs (quote from Quotiki)
Check out this really interesting lecture by Linus Torvalds on Git, the source control system he started for the Linux kernel. Its an interesting talk, where he compares Git with other version control systems.
I just ordered our EVO Experience tickets for Steve Vai’s stop in Chicago in September. Now I’m jazzed! This will be the second EVO Experience that Jonna and I have attended.
These are the funniest thing I’ve seen in a while. Check out this wordpress blog that emulates a Commodore 64 CLI. There is also one that emulates a Unix command line. See the test run page or download the theme.
One of my 2007 goals is to try to keep my All Consuming page up to date. I read a lot (though I tend to jump between books unless I find something really engaging) and want to keep record of where I am. I spent some time this morning updating my “should list“, if your interested in seeing it.
Jonna and I spent a relaxing four days in Vegas, and then a good deal of today getting our pictures up to our Flickr accounts. Each of us took a camera on this vacation. There’s a bigger post coming, but hey – I’m on vacation. Here are the links: Ron’s Photos and Jonna’s Photos.
Check out this awesome video posted on the 37 signals web site last Tuesday. I’ve always enjoyed Tarantinos dialog, but this adds a whole other dimension to it.
I was browsing the Riding Rails blog and saw this reference to a ComputerWorld article that rates Ruby on Rails as the #1 technology to know in 2007.
I found this really cool regular expression widget for the Mac Dashboard. It allows you to test regular expressions against text – and puts it right at your fingertips. Nice!
Found these Apple UK commercials via Slashdot. I found them quite amusing, especially the vacation one.
