The latest news about Creative owning a patent on “Automatic Hierarchical Categorization of Music By Metadata” has me a little annoyed. I just don’t see why one company would have to pay another for the ability to create a hierarchical menuing system. The ability of companies to “own ideas” rather than specific implementations is just not something that makes sense to me.
