I was going through old backup CD’s today and found a bunch of pictures that I had forgotten I had, like this one around Christmas when we were kids.

For some reason, this picture cracked me up. I know this has happened to me before but for some reason it didn’t strike me as weird until seeing this on Flickr.

Thats right, Deluxe Miracle Jesus with glow in the dark hands, five loaves of bread, two fish, and a vase of water to turn to wine. AWESOME!
Another picture from our Galena trip. I really wish I would have bought this one.

I loved this figurine. The bottom says "Life is Short, CARPE THE DAMN DIEM"
A figurine we found in Galena, IL – where we went for the weekend.
From Slashdot: “Michael Arrington over at TechCrunch has an article up on a new Flickr competitor called Zooomr. Ever wonder what Flickr’s architecture looks like? Niall Kennedy has a post about it that refers to a Powerpoint presentation on Flickr’s site and states some brief statistics. The presentation is pretty interesting. It’s amazing what you can do with MySQL and a little (okay, a lot of) PHP …
Nalla sent me a link to TechCrunch » First Screen Shots of Riya, an article about a new photo service with built in photo recognition. This looks pretty cool, aside from the stated 4 hour upload time per gigabyte of data.
Check out GeoBloggers.com if you want to see a really cool application that was written around the Google Maps and Flickr API’s. I haven’t quite figured out how to use it, but it looks really interesting and is a good example of what is possible when systems are designed with service orientation in mind.
Some Flickr users are pretty upset over the Yahoo! requirement that all Flickr users migrate to Yahoo! accounts, some threatening to leave the service once the final deadline approaches.
